Let's break the stigma of Mental Health


 Mental health is the most concerning matter nowadays. When we are doing our regular activities, some people silently dealing with their depression and anxiety. Even some years ago, people not used to give importance such issues. But the way time are passing people get to realized it's importance. In recent days, the world is becoming very competitive. Everywhere is competition going on and because of these reason expectation is also growing day by day. Everyday you have to do better and better. And after putting so much effort still you cannot satisfy anyone. From childhood,  many of us gets into a sick competition to become first in everything. Some parents just pressurize their children that they have to be perfect all the time. These concept of being a typical perfectionist basically ruin our own personality. We can try but we cannot be perfect in everything and that's what we have to understand. These highly expectations from family and society put lot of life in danger. We got to hear about lot of news like students of university, college and schools committed suicide for cannot fulfil their expectations. People can stay mentally disturb for many reason, it can be their own self reason like failed relationships or from family, friends, close one's or any other reason. When we get into such situation that can really break our self confidence . Sometimes we also make question to our existence. So time and time when these things happens with us and we can't even share it with anyone that really hamper our mental peace. 

As we see that mental health can be so dangerous so people are interested to know about it more and more. We are also taking effective steps for it. People are also becoming gentle with those persons who are dealing with such situation. Depression and anxieties can be so heart wrenching that it can drive a person to death. Every year on 10 October  we celebrate mental health day to make a reminder for everyone that our mental health and peace is our priority.

Recently in our university, there was a mental health awareness campaign on mental health day. It was so nicely organized by respective club. There was some section where was happening different kind of activities. There was mirror where you have to look at yourself and write an inspiring quote for yourself. After that a section where in a bowl there was lot of chits,  in those there was written some kind of activities. The chit you will pick up and the activity which was written you have to perform even it for 10 minutes a day and that should be a promise to ourselves. In another section some people were doing meditation and the whole atmosphere was so relaxing that I can't describe. These small things really affect a lot to mental health. That realizes us that we should give support to those person who are going through these situations.

We should give them some time so that they can express themselves whole heartedly and that will be a very affectionate step for them. 

Some days ago, I also experienced a live session which was held by a renowned organization was about mental health awareness. It was so useful for everyone that we can learnt about how to deal with depression and how to help those people who are dealing with it. In that live session there were two guest who was connected with us through online. One was from India and another one was a psychiatric from Nepal. First of all the guest who was from India talked about those reason for which people usually get into depression. As we were mostly youngsters she highly talked about relationships. That how boys and girls prioritize their relationship above everything and when they failed in that relationship how mentally affect that. So in these age that should not be our priority. Besides that over expectation, not accepting flaws , family problems are some most common reason nowadays. For all these the most effective thing she told us to do is self love. We should love our self. We should know our worth. Anyone or anything that give us negative vibe we should not get along with such thing or person. The thing we love to do and what makes us happy we should do those things. Our mental health is also affecting through social media so we should minimise our screen timing in social media. If anything bother us we have to share it with someone, now it could be any of family members, friends or anyone.
When you share your feelings with anyone that just come from heart and you always get a solution of any difficulties. After that they also discuss that how meditation truly works for mental health. That's why everyday from our busy life we should take some time and do meditation. It will make us feel fresh. When the psychiatrist discussed with us about which kind of cases he mostly handle. He stated that mostly the people's age between 16- 25 came to him for consultation. From childhood the build up of sadness and self consciousness gets really serious when we reach at a certain age. These kind of problem should be cured with care. He also stated that people who deals with much junk foods because they think it is giving them relief but that's not how it works. Junk food causes more problems so they have to eat health food  and lead a healthy lifestyle. These kind of many useful knowledge we got from that session.
These kind of session should be set up in every working and educational institution so that everyone can have more and more knowledge about mental health. By knowing so many things I wish to learn more about it do that even if slightly I can somehow help people who are struggling with such problem. So , we should break the stigma and promote the importance of mental health awareness more and more.
