Did you know that the global e-sports market is valued at $1.7 billion? E-sports is the abbreviation of electronic sports which mainly refers to the competitive side of video games. Bangladesh, a nation full of passion for e-sports, consists a fraction of the global e-sports market of $62.22 million according to The Daily Star report.

Bangladesh has experienced a huge spike in the e-sports community by enthusiasts of all ages over the past few years. E-sports has created opportunities for both boys and girls. Since e-sports does not require a good physique, handicapped people also get the opportunity to shine and achieve glorious moments in their lives. In the beginning, Bangladesh had a rather slow growth in the e-sports community. Due to lack of proper information, people of Bangladesh had a negative mentality towards gaming. Many parents would strictly discourage playing video games and see it as a waste of time. 

 However, the extreme passion for games drives the enthusiasts to overcome all the obstacles in their way. Extreme hard work, passion and dedication is necessary in order to become a top tier e-sports player just like in football, cricket, or any other physical sport.

 The popularity of e-sports have been greatly boosted by high-stake tournaments, often hosted by Discovery One, Logitech, Asus. These tournaments have presented promising career opportunities for professional gamers. E-sports has enabled passionate gamers to make gaming a professional career and also an opportunity to prove everyone who have a low opinion on gaming wrong. 

Bangladesh is yet to dominate the e-sports community internationally. Bangladesh needs more young and passionate gamers to emerge in order to create a good reputation. This is only possible when passionate gamers have access to proper equipment, reliable internet connection and most importantly the support from parents. They also need recognition for their hard work by the people of Bangladesh which can be done through social media and streaming platforms. That is the least people can do in order to encourage the players to achieve great results and create good reputation for its nation. With the help of high-stake tournaments, people are slowly starting to understand the potential of e-sports in Bangladesh. Therefore, Bangladesh is expected to witness another surge in the gaming culture in the near future.
